Joonas wins a distinction in the 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors. The competition received over 250 applications and 50 were invited for the auditions. The jury consisted of internationally reclaimed condutors, managers and directors of music institutions such as Lawrence Foster, Michal Nesterowicz and Dmitry Sitkovetsky.

Debuts in Finland
Joonas is conducting Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in April 2024 with a program of Ethel Smyth - The Wreckers Overture and Elgars Enigma Variations.
In October 2023 he is conducting Fauré Requiem with St. Michel Strings and Suomen Laulu -Choir in Mikkeli and Helsinki.

1st prize ex aequo in Cítta de Brescia - Giancarlo Facchinetti conducting competition!
Joonas wins 1st prize ex aequo with Ukranian conductor Nataliia Stets in the competition organised by Dédalo ensemble in Brescia Italy. Prize includes concerts in Italy, Romania and Czech Republic with orchestras like Hradec Kralove Philharmonic Orchestra and I Solisti Aquilani.

Joonas is jumping in to conduct the first performance of Joachim Raffs opera "Die Eifersüchtigen" with Opern-kollektiv Zürich and Orchestra of Europe. The performances will be in September in Arth and Zürich, Switzerland. The production will produce also a world premiere recording of the opera.
April 2023
Joonas jumps in for chief conductor Yannis Pouspourikas to conduct Sinfonieorchester Biel Solothurn in Switzerland in their ABO series. The program includes pieces from W.A. Mozart, Christian Jost, L. Bernstein and R. Wagner.
